Welcome pg

Here is some information on how I conduct my courses.

Homework:

Homework will be assigned almost every day. It is very important. It is due at 10 minutes after the hour sharp, on the due date. Late homework is not accepted. An exception is if you come to class late. You may hand in the assignment at the end of the class for 1/2 credit. I am sorry but I know from experience that I have to enforce this rule very strictly.

Homework will be returned in the boxes on the wall across from Sproul 2340 so be sure to put your Name, Math 9C-10, Due Date on the outside of the papers. For example
John Doe
Math 9C-10
Due 5/11/99

Grading:

The final grade is based on Homework (10%), Quizzes (10%), Midterms(2) (20% each) and the final exam (40%).

Midterms:

There will be two midterms. For dates, see the syllabus. There will be no make-up exams. There will be no potty breaks during exams.

Final exam:

There will be no potty breaks during the final exam.

Help:

I am available during office hours: MWF 1:10-2:00. If you can not make these hours just let me know after class and I will be very happy to schedule another time to meet. This is not an imposition, I am happy to do it. You are also welcome to come by the office, Sproul 2219 (you may call first, X5003) and I will be glad to help you.

Your Teaching Assistant will also have office hours.

The learning center conducts workshops in Calculus and also will find a tutor for you.

Feel free to ask questions at any time during lecture. I will not have time then to work homework problems, however. Please come to my office for that.

General:

Any time you have a suggestion about the course please feel free to discuss it with me. I am here to help you get the most out of this course.
