Just got back from the trip to Guerrero Negro I talked to you about last month. Whales were good. Weren't prepared to wade 500 feet to the boat, though! The road to the reserve (where camping is permitted and free) is washboard for only about 3 miles and very good the rest of the way.
Highway 1 just gets worse and worse.
Went to LA Bay. The washouts were no problem but the pavement is so bad now that the 42-mile trip takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Facilities at LA Bay are declining. Got gas at the junction on the way in. Three days later the pumps were gone! Looks like it's permanent. LA Bay itself has had no gas for a long time (the Pemex station operator hasn't paid his bill lately).
