The Ashmolean Museum
Le Bruyn notes that the Ashmolean owns only 5 Scottish
stone balls... and their webpage shows this photo of them:
very different from the photo in Lawlor's book:
No ribbons. Some stones have different shapes!
Also: the Ashmolean lists their 5 balls as having 7, 6, 6, 4 and 14
knobs, respectively — nothing like an icosahedron.
