Dorothy Marshall records Scottish stone balls with various numbers of
knobs, from 3 to 135 — but just two with 20, at the National
Museum in Edinburgh and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in
Glasgow.
Do these look like icosahedra?
Even if they do, should we credit Scots with "discovering
the icosahedron"?
Perhaps not.
