Michael Weiss: Now for a bit of straightforward grinding.

OK, so let's set

z = c+ib

Coh(c+ib) = e-icp + ibq |0>

Now for a bit of straightforward grinding. We want to express -icp+ibq in terms of z and a.

-icp = -i  (z+z*)/2  (a-a*)/i sq2

                      = (-1/2 sq2) (za + z*a - za* - z*a*)

ibq = (z-z*)/2  (a+a*)/sq2

                   = 1/2 sq2 (za + za* - z*a - z*a*)

-icp + ibq = (1/sq2) (za* - z*a)
