The Winter 2015 workshop in the program "Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and Their Representations" will take place on the campus of University of California Riverside, on the President's Day weekend (February 14-15, 2015). The local organizers are: Vyjayanthi Chari (vyjayanc at ucr.edu), Jacob Greenstein (jacobg at ucr.edu) and Carl Mautner (carl.mautner at ucr.edu).
The NSF-funded program "Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and their Representations", coordinated by Geoff Mason (UC Santa Cruz), Susan Montgomery (USC) and Joseph Wolf (UC Berkeley), organizes weekend workshops at various western United States campuses every few months during the academic year.
The purpose of the program is to communicate results and ideas rather than to deliver polished presentations. The program also serves to acquaint graduate students in this area with a range of researchers in Lie theory and representation theory.
Support is available for graduate students and postdocs. Please write to one of the local organizers for details.
Department of mathematics is located in the Surge building, 2nd floor.
The nearest airport is Ontario (ONT). There are two more airports serving the greater Los Angeles area which you may want to consider: John Wayne International Airport (SNA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
A shuttle from ONT to Riverside is about $\$ 39$ (about $\$78$ from LAX and SNA) one way for one person and about $\$9$ for any additional person. Shuttles should be booked in advance. The standard companies serving the greater L.A. area are Supershuttle, Apollo Shuttle and Prime Time Shuttle (see also the websites of respective airports).
If you are planning to drive, you will need a visitor parking permit to park on campus. The closest parking lots to the Department are #1 and #24 (see the map).
Courtyard by Marriott Riverside and Dynasty suites hotels are located in a walking distance from the campus and offer a UCR rate; two hotels in downtown Riverside (Mission Inn and Riverside Marriott) also offer a UCR rate (see the map).
