Mascotas de La Paz is a newly formed, non-profit and
volunteer organization composed of Mexicans and Americans living
in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The following
information is taken from the front page of the Mascotas website at
http://baja.com/mascotas.
"Our purpose is to reduce the number of stray dogs and cats in
the City of La Paz. We want to help these animals by finding
them good homes, providing veterinary services, and educating
the community on proper animal care. We want to spay and neuter
as many animals as possible in La Paz, and also provide
injections for parvovirus (disease of the intestine), distemper,
and worms. Free rabies vaccinations are provided by the
government. Several veterinarians are part of the organization
and will be donating their services. More are needed.
We also need your help in the form of donations. Donations will
go for pet food, medicine, boarding stray animals, and other
materials related to the cost of spaying and neutering. If you
would like to help, please send checks or money orders to:
